Designomics, an initiative endorsed by India Design Council, has been actively involved in raising awareness and establishing the value of good design through various initiatives including a TV series on Bloomberg UTV, a widely acclaimed annual award presentation to recognize businesses that have used design to grow successfully and a corporate design education initiative, Designomics Executive Learning.
To take this mandate further, Designomics Live Academy is instituted to promote excellence in design education amongst design students, through intense interface and mentoring from India's leading Design houses. This unique concept focuses on grooming the Designers with real life exposure and well rounded learning of Design strategy, creativity and management.

Designomics Live Academy (DLA) aims to take education out of the classroom and into leading Design houses where learning takes place under experienced, well-established design practitioners on real projects for discerning clients.
DLA nurtures future and industry ready graduates to develop professional portfolios while they acquire essential skills of research, strategy, creativity, design understanding, client interfacing and business management.
The end objective is to have students graduate with professional portfolios and help them acquire professional skills which would enable them to become crucial contributors to their employers immediately. Giving them an edge in terms of employment options and enabling them to command a premium that matches their portfolio. Graduates from DLA would be future-ready and are current with holistic global and local trends.

TRADITIONAL CLASSROOM EDUCATION
DLA follows a four-step process of Brand Assessment, Design Insight, Concept Creation and Design roll-out Management. This ensures solutions where design works towards the larger evolution of a client's brand and the business as a whole.
An environment scan to understand the Business, Cultural and Customer context in the perspective of a brand's ambitions and potential for growth.
The skill to identify and build on an insight from a vast body of information is what differentiates the brightest creative people of our times.
Creation of a verbal and visual expression based on an effective strategy, to build sustainable communication architecture.
Walking a creative idea to execution and ensuring ongoing integrity of brand values.
The first semester at DLA helps you hone your skills in design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which will allow you to learn or brush up your skills and introduce you to creative conceptual thinking. The course will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to excel in your domain.
You will take on primary responsibilities on real projects. While under the guidance of your mentors, you will take on a more active role in creative ideation and execution of these ideas.
You will be exposed to the Business of Design. You will be an active part of the processes that go into understanding creative briefs, creative ideation, articulation of ideas, preparing presentations, strategy and production management.You will also be a live partner in real projects for real clients. You will be taught to handle limited responsibility on these projects under the guidance of your mentors.
You will take on end-to-end responsibilities of projects, right from the first client briefing and conceptualisation, to making client presentations and execution of the project deliverables.You will finally evolve and fit into the role of a team-leader, where you will lead and mentor a team along with your senior mentors, while still working hands-on, on live projects. Additionally, you will also have an opportunity to earn a stipend based on the success of your projects in the final year of course.
Live Learning Centres are some the country's leading design houses where the students will acquire their diplomas gaining comprehensive practical knowledge by learning in a real world environment.
The Learning Centres are based in 4 cities across India across specializations.
Students of DLA will be under the direct supervision of senior or mid level managers from their respective Live Learning Centres. On a regular basis their progress and performance will be reviewed by their designated mentors from the DLA's Council of Faculty that comprises of some of the most respected names in the field of design.
Vyas Gianneti Creative (VGC)
Graduate from Asia's premier Design school, the National Institute of Design (NID) Specializing in Graphic Design and Visual Communication, embarked on a dual career path, gliding through Advertising while powering Specialized Design projects. Her belief in high quality creative solutions developed by strategic thinking has established her as one of India's foremost authorities on design. Preeti has also curated and presented a show on design called Designomics on Bloomberg UTV, interviewing design savvy captains of industry.

In order to keep the training personal and on a one-to-one basis with a senior mentor, DLA will offer only a select few seats in Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Delhi; in Post Foundation and Post Graduation Courses.
For Students with Post Foundation Experience
Applicants should at least have completed HSC or equivalent or should have appeared for HSC exams during the time of admission. The students who have completed some part of their degree and wish to transfer to DLA are also eligible to apply. DLA is flexible about finding a fit with students' prior experience and their future plans.
For Students applying for Post Graduation Courses
Applicants should have completed an Undergraduate Course in Design at a recognized institution.
All applicants will have to submit a duely filled application form (download here) along with a digital portfolio/presentation that showcases their conceptual and creative skills as well as an essay of 250 to 300 words on "How design can make a difference". All short listed applicants will have to appear for a personal interview.
